It all started with Eric the fisherman.
Our majority owner, Eric vanVeen, moved from Tigard, OR to Sitka, AK when he was 17 and shortly after became a commercial fisherman. While he continued fishing, he also started growing cannabis on the side, until it finally became legal in Alaska. He sold his fishing operation to go all-in on his cannabis dreams.
With 20+ years of growing experience, he ventured into business, which locals will recognize as a staple on our shelves; "vanGreen's". Because of Eric's knowledge in the industry, he was offered an opportunity to buy out a previous owner in Thee Treasure Chest. Within 3 months of Eric stepping in, Thee Treasure Chest opened its doors and has been providing licensed cannabis to the community of POW since.
